Frequently Asked Questions

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid – a chemical compound that acts throughout the body, including on certain parts of the brain, and is becoming increasingly popular in the health world. It comes from the cannabis plant; however, unlike its counterpart, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is responsible for the ‘high’ from marijuana, CBD, derived from the hemp plant, is non-intoxicating and some believe it may have potential health and wellness benefits. Once extracted from the cannabis plant, it is diluted with a carrier such as olive or coconut oil – this improves its bio-availability. Legacy369 products contain ZERO THC.

There are in fact well over 100 different cannabinoids which we know about – phytochemicals found within the cannabis plant. Together they make up the Cannabinoid Spectrum and the three forms mentioned here are the three which you are most likely to come across in your research into the benefits of CBD. These terms are used as indicators of how refined a particular CBD product is. During the extraction process, the Cannabis plant will yield a range (spectrum) of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. The range of chemical composition a particular CBD product contains, defines the label it is sold under. Full Spectrum CBD implies that the product contains the full range of cannabis extracts, apart from just CBD. By definition, this naturally includes a level of THC content. Broad Spectrum CBD products are similar to Full Spectrum ones, except that after initial extraction, psychoactive chemicals such as THC are removed. CBD Isolate is, as the name suggests, manufactured by refining other cannabis components out of the mix until only CBD remains. Most CBD isolate products are often 99% pure; meaning that one gram of isolate carries about 990 mg of CBD.
The Endocannabinoid System (or ECS for short) is our body’s primary regulatory system. It’s role is to modulate vital bodily functions, including sleep, stress, pain, appetite, cardio vascular functionality, energy and metabolism. The ECS hosts trillions of receptors, spread throughout our body on nearly every organ: CB1 receptors found primarily in the Nervous System and, CB2 receptors, which play an essential role regulating the Immune System and are activated when you take products high in CBD.
